7th July 2026 WMC 2026, a global community united to shape the future of mining
After three inspiring days of dialogue, innovation, and collaboration, the 27th World Mining Congress (WMC 2026) has come to a successful close in Lima, Peru. Bringing together more than 5,000 participants from over 70 countries, WMC 2026 reaffirmed its position as one of the world’s leading mining events, providing a truly global platform where industry leaders, government representatives, researchers, investors, students, technology innovators, and mining professionals came together to address the future of one of society’s most essential industries.
Held under the theme „Mining for the Future: Trust, Transformation and Technology,” the Congress demonstrated that the challenges facing mining today can only be solved through international collaboration, scientific excellence, and responsible innovation.
Three days of ideas that will shape the industry
Throughout the Congress, hundreds of technical presentations, keynote addresses, executive discussions, and networking sessions explored the topics that are redefining mining worldwide.
From CEOs of the world’s largest mining companies to young researchers presenting their first scientific papers, WMC 2026 reflected the diversity of perspectives needed to build a stronger and more sustainable mining industry.
Peru showcases its leadership
Hosting the World Mining Congress after more than five decades represented an important milestone for Peru. As emphasized during the closing of the Congress, WMC 2026 demonstrated Peru’s ability to convene the global mining community and foster meaningful dialogue on the future of responsible resource development.
The beginning of new partnerships
The true value of the World Mining Congress has never been measured simply by attendance. Its greatest legacy lies in the partnerships created, the ideas exchanged, and the collaborations that continue long after delegates return home.
New research initiatives, international cooperation, investment opportunities, technology partnerships, and lifelong professional relationships were all born during these three days in Lima. The Congress once again demonstrated why, since its first edition in 1958, it has remained one of the mining industry’s most important forums for knowledge exchange and global cooperation.
Looking ahead
As WMC 2026 comes to a close, the work continues. The conversations started in Lima will help shape future mining projects, research programs, technologies, and policies across every continent.
To everyone who contributed to making this Congress such a remarkable success, participants, speakers, researchers, students, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, organizers, and partners, thank you for being part of this extraordinary global mining community.
We wish every participant continued success, safe travels home, and many new opportunities inspired by the connections made in Lima. The future of mining is built together. See you soon on the next WMC in Canada.
