On September 8–12, 2025 in Astor Garden Hotel, Sts. Constantine and Helena Resort, Varna, Bulgaria, the XVIII International Conference on Open and Underwater Mining of Minerals will take place.

This year’s conference serves a dual purpose: addressing critical topics in the mining industry while uniting the scientific potential from Europe and the Balkan region and celebrating two significant anniversaries: the 140th anniversary of the Federation of Scientific Engineering Unions in Bulgaria and the 60th anniversary of the Scientific and Technical Union of Mining, Geology, and Metallurgy.

The thematic topics of the XVIII International Conference on Open and Underwater Mining of Minerals span a wide range of issues, including:

  • Mining exploitation and advanced technologies
  • Economic efficiency and information technology
  • Ecology, training, and legislation
  • The application of artificial intelligence in mining

The Conference Committee is honored to collaborate with Bulgaria’s Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Economy and Industry, and Ministry of Environment and Water in organizing this prestigious event.

The conference will feature esteemed scientific professionals such as Prof. Dr. Jani Bakallbashi,  Viktor Prushak Prof. Dr. Carsten Drebenstedt, Prof. Dr. Zoran Panov, Prof. DSc Wojciech Sas, Prof. DSc Marek Cala, Prof. Dr. Loretta Batali, Prof. DSc Victor Gordeev, Prof. Dr. Bojan Dimitrijevic, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Pavlovich, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tomislav Subaranovic, Prof. Dr. Jana Frankovska, Prof. Dr. Joze Kortnik, Prof. Dr. Ozer Cinicioglu, Prof. Dr. Turgay Onargan, Gennadii Pivnyak, Dr. Eng.
