13th February 2026 Drilling set to begin at Arizona’s historic Silver King Silver Project
Prismo Metals Inc. has announced that it has reached a major inflection point. The company has received formal approval from the U.S. Forest Service to launch its fully funded diamond drill program at the historic Silver King Mine in Arizona’s prolific Copper Belt a district known for hosting world-class mineral systems.
This milestone marks the transition from surface exploration to systematic subsurface testing at one of Arizona’s most notable historic silver producers.
Permit details
The permit allows drilling from multiple pads positioned around the historic workings. The initial focus: testing the upper portion of the steeply plunging, pipe-like mineralized body, evaluating extensions of the stockwork and breccia zone mined historically across nine levels (approx.. 300 m depth), assessing additional high-priority targets identified through recent geological work, considering further testing on nearby private ground.
Mobilization is scheduled for February 20, 2026, followed by access preparation and commencement of drilling.
The first holes will test the upper half of the west-dipping mineralized pipe structure that historically delivered high-grade silver and base metals. Subsequent drilling may step out at depth and laterally beyond historic workings.
CEO statement
Dr. Craig Gibson, Chief Exploration Officer, stated: “Receiving approval for drilling at Silver King is a key milestone as we transition from surface exploration into active testing of the system. With funding in place for multiple phases of drilling, we are well positioned to evaluate the significant exploration potential of this historic, high-grade silver system.”
CEO Alain Lambert added: “Following a very smooth permitting process with Forest Service, we are now ready to conduct the first ever comprehensive drill program at Silver King. Our exploration work to date has attracted the attention of many given the results we have published and our proximity (3.4 km) to Resolution Copper, a Rio Tinto/BHP joint venture. I expect the drilling program to heighten attention.”
CLose to other big project
The project’s location just 3.4 km from Resolution Copper, a joint venture between Rio Tinto and BHP reinforces the broader geological significance of the area.
To execute the program, Prismo has partnered with Godbe Drilling LLC, a Colorado-based family-owned drilling company with deep operational experience across Arizona and the southwestern United States.
Their mandate: efficiently test the upper mineralized pipe structure and adjacent dense stockwork zones that historically supported production.
Silver King area
Discovered in 1875, Silver King produced nearly 6 million ounces of silver, with early grades reported between approximately 21 and 61 ounces per ton. Late 1990s small-scale mining returned exceptionally high silver and gold values, suggesting that high-grade mineralization may persist within the system.
Located within the same geological corridor as several major Arizona deposits, Silver King combines: proven historic production, untested depth potential, district-scale setting, infrastructure proximity.
With drills turning later this month, the Silver King Project enters a defining chapter — one that could significantly elevate market attention around this historic high-grade silver system.
