Global mining Leaders to gather at World Mining Congress 2026

24th March 2026 Global mining Leaders to gather at World Mining Congress 2026

This is far more than a traditional conference. It is a high-level platform where strategic decisions are discussed and where the future of mining is actively defined by those leading the sector today.

Mining Leaders

Among the confirmed participants are CEOs and senior executives from the world’s leading companies, including Iván Arriagada of Grupo Antofagasta Minerals, Natascha Viljoen of Newmont Corporation, Marna Cloete of Ivanhoe Mines, Mikael Staffas of Boliden, Roque Benavides Ganoza of Compañía de Minas Buenaventura, and Juan Luis Kruger of Minsur S.A.. They will be joined by global industry leaders such as Rohitesh Dhawan of ICMM and Tim O’Connor of BHP, bringing together a unique concentration of decision-makers and expertise.

World Mining Congress 2026

The World Mining Congress 2026 is designed to move beyond discussion and into action. Its core objective is to transform strategy into implementation and convert industry challenges into scalable, practical solutions. The agenda will address critical areas such as investment under uncertainty, risk management, operational resilience, productivity, digital transformation, and innovation across the entire mining value chain. For professionals, investors, and researchers, this creates a rare opportunity to gain direct insight into how leading companies are navigating complexity and driving transformation.

Opportunities

At the same time, the industry faces a defining global challenge. The demand for minerals continues to grow rapidly, driven by the energy transition and technological development, yet this must be balanced with increasing expectations around environmental performance and social responsibility. The key question is no longer whether change is needed, but how quickly and effectively it can be delivered. WMC 2026 responds to this challenge by creating a global platform for collaboration, bringing together industry leaders, governments, scientists, and investors around a shared objective: building a more responsible, efficient, and future-ready mining sector.

Shaping mining scene

This is why the Congress matters. It is not simply an event, but a call to rethink how mining projects are designed, developed, and delivered in a rapidly evolving world. Questions around accelerating project timelines without increasing risk, and unlocking greater value from existing assets while maintaining sustainability, will be central to the discussions. The answers will be shaped by the collective knowledge and experience of those present in Lima between 24-26th of June 2026.
