20th September 2024 Promising Future for Adina Lithium Project
Bright future
Winsome Resources Ltd has reinforced the potential of its $259 million Adina lithium project in Quebec with a recent scoping study, projecting a 17-year mine life and capital-efficient operations. The study highlights a post-tax NPV of $743 million and a 43% IRR, with a payback period of just 1.8 years.
Expectations
Key to this efficiency is Winsome’s plan to repurpose infrastructure from the Renard diamond mine, acquired in April. By upgrading Renard’s facilities, Winsome expects to produce 282,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate annually, saving significant costs compared to building a new plant from scratch.
Economy boost
With all-in sustaining costs estimated at $693 per tonne, the Adina project is set to remain competitive even during lithium market fluctuations. The project is expected to create 500 jobs and generate over $7.5 billion in revenue, with up to $1.1 billion in taxes benefiting local communities.
