Regis Resources expands Duketon Gold Project

10th May 2024 Regis Resources expands Duketon Gold Project

Expansion

Regis Resources has announced that it is moving forward with the construction of two new underground mines. The Garden Well Main and Rosemont Stage 3 mines will set to significantly boost Regis gold production capabilities up to 100,000 to 120,000 ounces of gold annually starting from 2027. These developments mark a significant milestone in the company expansion strategy at the Australia’s Duketon

Jim Beyer has explained: “We are well on the way to operating four to five underground mines at Duketon to deliver sustainable gold production of 200,000 to 250,000 ounces of gold each year.”

Big player

Since declaring a maiden underground reserve for the Rosemont project in 2019, Regis has been relentless in its exploration efforts. Through targeted exploration and resource definition drilling programs, it has expanded our Duketon reserves by nearly 170% by the end of 2022. During this period, Regis underground mines contributed 151,000 ounces of gold production.
To bring these plans to fruition, Regis will invest between A$120 million and A$150 million ($80m-$99m) in capital to construct the two new mines, with development commencing immediately. We’re on track to see the first ore from stopes between July and September 2026, marking the start of our 2027 financial year.

Regis is considered the third-largest Australian gold producer.
