It announce the receipt of the Triple Environmental License for The Barreiro mine, located within the Grota do Cirilo property in Brazil.

This license—covering construction, installation, and operation—was approved by unanimous vote, including NGO members, from the Chamber of Mining Activities in Minas Gerais. This marks a crucial step in ensuring a sustainable, long-term lithium supply for the Greentech Industrial Complex, supporting 16-year BNDES financing term.

Decision importance

The Environmental assessments began in January 2021, with licenses filed in July 2022. Our foresight positions us for seamless future expansion.

The company has invested in social initiatives since 2023, including funding schools, childcare units, and cultural programs for local children in partnership with the Aracuai and Itinga municipalities.

The unanimous license approval is a testament of Sigma Lithium commitment to responsible and eco-conscious mining practices.
