Talon Metals with a record-breaking sulphide discovery

16th May 2025 Talon Metals with a record-breaking sulphide discovery

Talon Metals Corp., the majority owner and operator of the Tamarack Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project in central Minnesota, has made the press release informing about a record-breaking discovery: a massive sulphide intercept measuring a cumulative 34.9 meters, the longest in the project’s history.

Massive discovery

Brian Goldner, Talon’s Chief Exploration and Operations Officer informed: “In my 19 years working on the Tamarack Project, I’ve never seen anything like this. This 34.9-meter intercept of high-grade massive sulphide isn’t just the longest ever recorded at Tamarack — it’s a defining moment. It confirms what we’ve believed all along: that Tamarack is a truly world-class system. This project is essential to America’s critical mineral independence, offering a domestic source of nickel and copper at a time when the United States needs it most.”

Evalaution of drilling data

Since February 2025, Talon’s exploration team has been conducting infill and outfill drilling to complete a feasibility study and support the Environmental Assessment Worksheet.

Historic drill hole 16TK0250 was re-examined and extended, revealing 8.25 meters of mineralization grading 12.62% Ni, 13.88% Cu, and 17.95g/t PGEs+Au (23.28% NiEq or 48.87% CuEq).

Follow-up drilling (hole 25TK0563) intercepted 34.9 meters of high-grade mixed and massive sulphides — a cumulative record for Tamarack.

Vital discovery

Tamarack’s discoveries are a step forward in securing a domestic supply of critical minerals like nickel and copper, vital for the green energy transition and bolstering U.S. mineral independence. The company will continue to advance the project with rigorous geological analysis and feasibility studies, ensuring a clear path forward for responsible and sustainable mining.
